Benicar (Olmesartan)

The generic name of Benicar is olmesartan. This drug is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. Olmesartan improves the flow of blood and keeps blood vessels from narrowing. In treatment of high blood pressure, Benicar is the ideal medication. Some of the inactive ingredients of Benicar are inactive ingredients: hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, talc, titanium dioxide, and (5 mg only) yellow iron oxide.

Crucial Advice:

  • Stop taking Benicar, if you are pregnant. This drug can injure the unborn baby.

  • People having diabetes, should avoid taking Benicar.

  • People who are allergic to olmesartan should avoid taking this medication.

Side Effects:

  • Feeling uneasy and like as if you will pass away.

  • Unusual urination on a regular basis.

  • Chest and stomach pain with raise in heartbeat.

  • Swelling of hands and feet.
