Atorvastatin Calcium

Atorvastatin calcium is a white to off-white crystalline powder that is insoluble in aqueous solutions of pH 4 and below. Atorvastatin calcium is very slightly soluble in distilled water, pH 7.4 phosphate buffer, and acetonitrile; slightly soluble in ethanol; and freely soluble in methanol. Atorvastatin Calcium Increases the rate at which the body removes cholesterol from the blood and reduces production of cholesterol by inhibiting the enzyme that catalyzes early rate-limiting step in cholesterol synthesis; increases HDL; reduces LDL, VLDL, and triglycerides.

Atorvastatin Calcium side effects:

Stop taking atorvastatin and call your doctor at once if you have any serious side effects like unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, confusion, memory problems, fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine, swelling, weight gain, urinating and etc. Limit alcoholic beverages. Daily use of alcohol may increase your risk for liver problems, especially when combined with atorvastatin. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
