Processor (CPU)

The processor is the work horse of the computer. The processor can handle a certain amount of information at any given time, as it processes data, it warms up and is kept cool by thermal compound, fans and a heat sink. A processor could be very well compared to a heart. It is at it's core a very essential component and when it under-performs, so does the rest of the machine.

In the 90's, processors quickly evolved and become more and more powerful multiplying with power and efficiency as each year past. Now, in the 2010’s this multiplying effect has slowed. In order to combat this, engineers began creating multiple cores to handle larger workloads more efficiently however it is safe to say that if you bought an i7 processor for your desktop computer when they were first released, even now 5-7 years later, you don’t even have to think about replacing it.
